About Gavin Totten

Gavin Totten

My second articulating gauntlet, made from stainless steel and copper, won the Best in Show and Mastermind awards in a Denver art competition among a field of over 1,100 submissions.

By 14, I switched to actual metal, building a homemade forge in my garage using a bucket, a bag of cement, and an old hairdryer.

Within days, I fabricated my first fully articulating gauntlet from a repurposed aluminum pan, a garden glove, and roofing nails.

The love for my craft began at age 12, cutting cardboard from cereal boxes into scales and painting them to look like metal for Halloween shoulder armour.

My jewelry design and fabrication skills were honed at Savannah College of Art & Design [SCAD] in Savannah, Georgia, United States where I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewelry.

I enjoy pushing the boundaries of high jewelry.

I welcome opportunities to contribute to innovative studios, independent designers, or luxury houses where experimentation, craftsmanship, and bold designs are at the forefront.

Connect with me for impactful, custom designs for runway, editorial, and high-profile clients.

This early passion for armour is visible in every piece of jewelry I design.
